SPIROL Industries Ltd., Windsor, Ontario, was recently awarded a General Motors 2012 Supplier Quality Excellence Award. GM's Supplier Quality Engineers (SQEs), design and manufacturing engineers, and other plant personnel were surveyed as part of the award process. In addition, statistics were analyzed with regard to quality performance in the areas of line interruptions, recalls, and corrective actions.

According to General Motors, only 7% of its product suppliers – those who have demonstrated the highest levels of quality performance over the previous 12 months - will receive the award.
