New Product: Glass roving

Aug. 4, 2009
S-1 glass rovings provide strong reinforcement for thermoplastics

S-1 glass rovings are high-performance reinforcements for thermoplastics. A 32% S-1-glass-filled thermoplastic performs the same as a 60% E-glass filled material. Using less fiber also provides better impact resistance, surface aesthetics, and process efficiency.
The S-1 fibers work with PC, PEI, PBT, and PA 6.6. The fibers have better hydrolytic stability, 30% higher tensile strength, and 18% higher tensile modulus than E-glass. The fillers come in roving and chopped-fiber forms.
