The MPN motors are designed to replace the now obsolete N-Series motors by Rockwell Automation/Allen-Bradley while offering more torque per frame size. The front motor mount, shaft dimensions, connectors, and electrical Ke (back-EMF) of the motors are said to be identical to the N-Series, although some may be slightly longer in physical size.

Most MPN motors have a 2,000-line encoder, 24-V brake system, and are rated for a 340-Vdc bus. The others have a 1,000-line encoder and are rated for a 170-Vdc bus, with optional 24-V brake.
