Get A Grip

Dec. 9, 2004
GSM is a compact gripperswivel unit for automated assembly.

Available in three base swivel-unit sizes, it can be equipped with one of four different gripper configurations: two-finger parallel grippers, three-finger concentric grippers, two-finger angular grippers, and 180° angular grippers. The GSM is fully adjustable from 1 to 180° and features hydraulic shock absorbers to dampen rotation. The gripper's air supply is hose-free and ported internally, eliminating interfering contours from airlines and sensors. The unit's slim design permits several units to mount close together with no interference, and magnetic-sensor mounting in the body for position feedback on both the gripper and swivel units. The GSM offers 92 different versions with strokes ranging from 4 to 20 mm and a grip force range of 6.3 to 62 lbf.
