High-Flow TPU Adhesives

June 7, 2006
A family of Irogran TPUs (thermoplastic polyurethanes) has the performance of conventional TPUs but with low-melt viscosity.

This lets designers spec TPUs as film and hot-melt adhesives. The low-melt viscosity boosts substrate wetting and penetration, which delivers good adhesion performance. The TPUs process at low temperatures, thus opening up applications for materials with relatively low heat resistance. Irogran A 90 4931 DP and A 90 E 4932 DP are fast-crystallizing adhesives while Irogran A78 E 4915 DP and its low softening temperature counterpart A 78 E 4947 DP are elastic TPUs.
