AST4000 pressure sensors withstand a variety of mechanical, electrical, and environmental challenges found in hydraulic pressure-measurement applications. The transducers incorporate proprietary Krystal Bond technology, where the pressure port is constructed from a single piece of stainless steel, unlike other technologies that weld or clamp the diaphragm in place. The stress-to-strain curve of the diaphragm is extremely low, resulting in repeatable results, high cycle life, and long-term stability.

The AST4000 pressure sensors can be specified at 4× proof pressure (standard is 2×). An available internal-welded restrictor plug (commonly referred to as a “snubber”) reduces the inside diameter of the pressure port, dampening pressure spikes in the system before reaching the sensor’s diaphragm.
