Magnetic Angular Sensor

Sept. 27, 2007
The PRAS3 magnetic angular sens or comes in a 1.4-in.- diameter stainless- steel housing with an IP67 or IP69K rating.

The active sensor element uses an internal, contact- free permanent magnet to determine angular position. Optional measurement ranges start at 0 to 15° and progress in 15° steps up to 0 to 360° rotation. The sensor uses ball bearings to handle the axial and radial loads along the 10-mmdiameter shaft. Mounting brackets are available for either eccentric mounting clamps or through-hole bolts. The range of output choices include 0.5 to 4.5 V, 0.5 to 10 V, and 4 to 20 mA and whether the output rises with CW or CCW shaft rotation. Resolution and repeatability are ±0.03% full scale while linearity is ±0.3% full scale.
