Magnetic cylinder sensors

Dec. 8, 2005
C-slot magnetic cylinder sensors, featuring integrated giant magnetoresistive technology (GMR), are for use in pneumatic cylinders.

The 15-mmlong sensor bodies are top-load mounting to eliminate the need to remove end caps. An integrated friction tab prevents sliding, even in vertically positioned cylinders. The sensors are polarity independent and provide reliable piston-position detection regardless of magnet orientation. The GMR technology gives the sensors excellent repeatability, fast response, and immunity from long-term effects of magnetic fields. The C-slot magnetic cylinder sensors are dc units that are three wire, normally open, and available in pnp and npn. Available models include M8 snap-fit pigtail, 2-m cable, and a threaded M8 pigtail that connects directly to multiport backs without a patch cord. ifm efector inc., 805 Springsdale Dr., Exton, PA 19341, (800) 441-8246, www.ifmefector.com
