Melt-Processible TPUs

TPUCO melt-processible thermoplastic polyurethanes (TPUs) come as pellets for molding sheets, film, tubing, and conveyer belts/cords using conventional injection and extrusion molding equipment.

The TPUs combine the best properties of rubber and plastic, including strength and durability, as well as chemical, moisture, and fungus resistance. A polyester-based version features excellent oil, fuel, and solvent resistance, while its polyether-based counterpart provides chemical, hydrolysis, and flexfatigue resistance at temperatures to 31°F (35°C). A polycaprolactonebased option boasts high impact strength, as well as excellent abrasion, scratch, tensile, and puncture resistance. Designers can spec thinner gage TPUs compared to PVC and other materials with no loss of performance. The TPUs mold in 75 to 95 Shore A Durometers, with a nonplastic feel and come in a range of colors, opacities, and surface finishes.
