Miniature Electroluminescent Driver

Nov. 3, 2005
The D381B module is a "stand-alone" electroluminescent driver that combines all external, discrete components required to backlight monochrome displays and keypads into a single, cost-effective chip.

It uses three-port topology to reduce audible and electrical noise. It also uses internally controlled current discharge for additional reduction of audible and electrical noise. The 5 7-mm driver has an imbedded power inductor and operates on a wide range of dc input voltages (2.0 to 6.0 V). This lets it fit various electronic and battery configurations in wireless communications devices including, PDAs and handsets. D381B modules are RoHS ( Restriction of Hazardous Substances) and WEEE (Waste of Electric and Electronic Equipment) compliant. Samples of the leadless/lead-free D381B module are available, as are data sheets with reference circuit designs.
