New Product: Silicones spruce-up medical hardware

Oct. 11, 2007
A range of custom colorable silicones for overmolding multiple-use medical devices can take hundreds of sterilizations.

A proprietary silicone bonding process creates a hermetic seal between the silicone and overmolded substrates including stainless steel, aluminum, and polyetheretherketone. Bonds withstand repeated autoclaving and inhibit the migration of body fluids between sealed surfaces. A range of durometers, and conductive or insulated materials can further enhance the silicones. In addition, many of the silicones are USP Class-6 and ISO-10993 implantablegrade materials.
