New Product: Soft Thermoplastic Elastomers

April 24, 2008
stand up under the hood A new ETPV engineering thermoplastic vulcanizate and two Hytrel grades meet demands for soft oil and heat-resistant elastomers for under-the-hood applications.

Hytrel AC801 NC010, a thermoplastic polyester elastomer, is much softer than any other Hytrel grades and sports improved heat resistance. Its nominal hardness is Shore A 80 and it withstands temperatures to 150°C. Extruded and molded parts made from 95A02HS BK001 and 95A02 NC010 ETPVs withstand the rigors of automotive underhood service and have good process stability in profile extrusion and blow molding. The two versions are black and heat stabilized. 95A02HS BK001 can take 3,000 hr at 150°C while 95A02 NC010 is best suited for less-demanding environments.
