EC-E electronic circuit breakers protect load circuits connected to a 24-Vdc power supply

The EC-E electronic circuit breakers protect load circuits connected to a 24-Vdc power supply. Active electronic current limiting for shortcircuit conditions and overload shutdown are combined to ensure the circuit breaker responds to fault conditions faster than the power supply.

The EC-E has a current limitation of 1.3 to 1.8 times the rated current of the circuit protector and it is rated for both hazardous and nonhazardous environments. It is possible to switch on capacitive loads of up to 20,000 μF. The circuit breaker disconnects only when an overload or short circuit occurs. Operators can turn the EC-E on or off manually with a slide switch, or remotely reset the breaker via an input signal.

Three versions are available: ECE1 has an N/O signal contact; the EC-E4 has an N/C signal contact; and the EC-E has reset capability and status output. All have LED indication and are rated for current ranges from 0.5 A through 12 A. The rail-mountable circuit breaker has LED indication and is rated for 0.5 through 12-A currents.
