Six models comprise the VWDIR134 line of parallel-shaft dc gearmotors designed for high-torque applications. The 90-Vdc brushed gearmotors provide up to 500 lb-in. constant torque and are available with 1/10 or 1/11 hp. The compact, integral gear reducers have hardened-steel helical and spur gearing with ratios ranging from 10:1 to 266:1 and corresponding fixed output speeds from 152 to 6 rpm. The gearmotor’s built-in face mounting is compatible with Von Weise Genesis mounts and offers 300-lb overhung load capability. These gearmotors also accept the TightDrive speed control.

The TightDrive motor-mounted speed control installs on the rear of the VWDIR134 gearmotors and offers up to a 20:1 speed range. Housed in a durable aluminum extrusion, the unit controls speed with a combination on/ off switch and speed potentiometer. Three easily accessible adjustable potentiometers provide settings for minimum and maximum rpm and current limiting.

The TightDrive is designed for 115-V 50/60 Hz and comes with a 3-ft power cord and NEMA 5-15P plug. The drive mounts to the motor in 90° increments to optimize position of cord exit and motor leads.
