New Products: Hart Loop Converter for Process Data

Hart Loop Converter (HLC) accesses digital information from Hartenabled (Highway Addressable Remote Transducer) field devices to make it accessible to the analog side of process control

The Hart Loop Converter (HLC) accesses digital information from Hartenabled (Highway Addressable Remote Transducer) field devices to make it accessible to the analog side of process control. The converter is both a transmitter power supply and Hart monitor. Up to three Hart signals can be monitored simultaneously and provided as independent 4-to-20-mA analog signals. The converter can also access monitoring and control functions for the productioncontrol system without additional wiring or interference with the existing analog communications infrastructure.

The HLC is equipped with two or four trip values that can monitor specific error conditions detected by the device and react when a specific value falls below or exceeds a predefined trip value. This turns the converter into an alarm device that detects critical process parameters, and helps keep the production process within safe operating conditions.

The converter has a built-in display and keypad for status indication and programming. An external programming device or PC may be connected via a front side terminal.
