Noncontact Rotary Sensor

March 9, 2006
The RFC Series of magnetic-field sensors have no moving or mechanical parts to wear or break.

The sensor contains an integrated circuit that outputs an analog signal representing the calculated rotational angle of a magnetic field from 30 to 360° in 10° steps. The sensor is sealed to Class IP69 and is insensitive to dirt or dampness. Electrical connections are via shield cable with three lead wires. The device provides 12-bit resolution, independent linearity to 0.5% of the measurement range, and repeatability of <0.03%. Two voltage output options are available as well as a redundant output using a six-wire shielded cable.
