Palm-Sized Universal Testing Machines

Jan. 11, 2007
Micro EP palm-sized universal testing machines determine the mechanical properties of miniature specimens in tension, compression, or flexure.

The devices can be used as stand-alone testers or be installed in an optical or atomic microscope to compare the macroscopic stress-strain states with the microscopic changes in the material. The testers exert forces from a few grams to 5 kN.
