Preform-cooling system - W. Amsler

Feb. 25, 2011
The system cuts cycle time and internal stresses.
A preform-cooling system for plastic-bottle production replaces standard reflectors with plenums to increase air flow. Lower preform surface temperatures mean minimal temperature differentials, less stress, and shorter molding cycles. Higher air flow also cuts the risk of burning colored preforms. The system uses on-board filtered air instead of energy-intensive compressed air. The preform cooling system is available as a retrofit on the company's stretch-blow machines.W.
