RP machines build with ABS

July 7, 2005
The Dimension SST builds functional 3D parts out of durable ABS plastic and incorporates an automated soluble support-removal system.

Dimension SST and BST machines build functional 3D prints from the bottom up, one layer at a time.

RP parts give users greater convenience in design by reducing engineering time and enabling the development of prototypes with more complex geometries. Accompanying software imports STL files and slices and orients the part, creates necessary support structures, and plots a precise deposition path for the 3D printer to follow. Whiles the Dimension BST requires users to manually remove support pieces, Dimension SST provides a cleanstation that removes soluble supports, thereby enabling "hands-free" 3D printing. Prices: For the Dimension BST, $24,900; for the SST, $29,900.
