Software lets CFD run in CAD

Jan. 11, 2007
Fluent Connection 1.1 software lets users perform CFD simulations that are based on design data from widely used CAD packages.

Packages for NX, Pro/E Wildfire, and SolidWorks work in the CAD UI, providing tools for checking and preconditioning 3D geometry models to ensure they are ready for the next simulation step. Connection 1.1 also lets CAD users eliminate or repair geometry that would otherwise hinder a simulation. For instance, geometry models might include gaps between surfaces or overlaps. The software identifies and repairs such flaws.
