Stiction-Free Air Cylinders

March 22, 2007
A line of air cylinders nearly eliminates what is known as stiction; a common problem that causes pistons inside of air cylinders to stick at the beginning of a stroke.

The cylinders feature self-aligning graphite pistons fitted to Pyrex-lined stainless steel cylinders. They serve in –85 to 302°F applications that call for a smooth range of motion at pneumatic pressures down to 0.2 psi. The cylinders need no oil or seals, and all exposed surfaces are stainless steel or nickel.
