The FinePoint MPD-9xx Series of pen-based input devices contains battery-powered and battery-free pens and a digitizer behind the LCD screen communicating with the pen as it moves across the surface. The digitizer reports pen tip status, position, and sensitivity. The MPD-9xx digitizer board is said to be the thinnest on the market (1.2 mm) and houses all controller components in a strip down one side of the board. The board’s grid can be 7, 12.1, or 14.0-in. wide. Smaller formats are available for smartphone and PDAs.
