Ring Master
I have been a subscriber of Motion System Design for about a year now. I design packaging machinery and find your publication very informative.
One line of equipment we design has a belt-driven rotating ring (20- in. diameter) assembly that rides on a circular vee-groove roller-bearing track. While we are satisfied with the ring assemblies we currently purchase, we have been unable to find any other company that offers a similar product.
That said, I think circular rolling track systems would be a great editorial focus for Motion System Design. These rotating ring assemblies are used in packaging, MRI medical diagnostics machines, machining centers, robotics and many more industries.
I look forward to learning more about these ring assemblies in future issues of MSD.

Our November issue will focus on packaging technology. The article you suggest would fit nicely. We’ll get right on it. Thanks for the feedback. - Ed.
History Lesson
In response to his letter published in the February issue of Motion System Design, it is precisely Mr. Barbour’s narrow definition of “religious freedom” that required the Founding Fathers to separate Church and State. Even a cursory reading of the history of the 17th and 18th century reveals the abuses by the Church that the Founding Fathers were well aware of. “Those who fail to learn from history are doomed to relive it.”
