Texas Instruments’ Haptic Bluetooth Kit (DRV2605EVM-BT) helps enable designers to prototype eccentric rotating mass (ERM) motor and linear resonant actuator (LRA) haptic affects.
Texas Instruments’ Haptic Bluetooth Kit (DRV2605EVM-BT) helps enable designers to prototype eccentric rotating mass (ERM) motor and linear resonant actuator (LRA) haptic affects. Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) and an iOS app are used in conjunction to create haptic sequences and LED patterns for tactile feedback and notifications and alerts from a library of distinct haptic effects. This eliminates wires and the need to design haptic waveforms. The kit also features a DRV2605 haptic driver for ERM/LRA and a SimpleLink BLE CC2541 wireless microcontroller. It can be used to select and test haptic effects for virtually any touch-enabled application, including wearables, portable medical equipment, and augmented reality.
