With multiple systems and multiple technologies converging, it’s been a busy time for discrete manufacturers. At the forefront of that challenge is the use of data to drive process improvements. 

Stephen Greene, vice president of Global Marketing and Business Development at Stratus, spoke with Machine Design’s Bob Vavra about how their customers are learning to use data to analyze and address operational challenges. He also discusses how edge computing is providing a bridge for manufacturers between plant floor operational data and cloud computing power.
