Automate 2024: Pallet Handling Systems from mk North America Inc.

June 6, 2024
Modular, versatile pallet handling systems from mk North America Inc. were on display at Automate 2024, including a range of chain conveyor sizes.

In this demo at mk North America Inc.’s booth at Automate, Michael Zampano, mechanical project engineer, shows Machine Design the company’s VersaFlex AP 10 pallet handling system. Designed for medium-duty pallet-handling applications—such as automotive components, larger battery cell applications, machining center operations, and inspection and testing centers—this conveyor system has a repeat accuracy of ± 0.1 mm when used with mk pallets and locating devices. The pallets can be machined to accept its customers’ product fixtures.

Other features include cushioned and non-cushioned pallet stops; a pallet diverter with double-acting pneumatic rotary drive; and pallet-locating device includes necessary pallet stop.

Zampano points out the system’s modularity and its two sizes of 300 mm × 300 mm and 250 mm × 225 mm, handling loads up to 60 lb. He also shows us the VersaFlex chain widths, which allow for a more modular construction.

The company’s CAD360! tool allows customers to model and download simple conveyors as well as full systems in mk’s VersaMove line.
