Automate 2024: Bota’s Sensing Technologies for Industrial Applications

June 14, 2024
In Bota Systems AG’s booth at Automate, Ilias Patsiaouras demonstrated the company’s force sensing, torque sensing and quality control products for industrial applications.

In a recent showcase of industrial sensing applications, Ilias Patsiaouras, CTO and co-founder of Bota AG, highlighted the significance of precise sensing for quality control and integration.

In the first part of the demo, he emphasized the criticality of recording button press for accuracy in in-line product testing. By using force-sensing technology, the system can ensure precise measurement and verification of button press actions, which is necessary for maintaining product standards.

A robotic arm demonstrated dynamic force sensing capabilities. Unlike traditional pre-programmed movements, the robot employed force sensing to adapt in real time, applying consistent force.

Patsiaouras then showed the six-axis force-torque sensor with a lightweight design that is being used in drone-mounted applications as well as gripper manipulations. The company has compact sensors for quick robot connections in addition to specialized sensors for collaborative robots.
