Air-Bearing Positioners Improve Movement Precision

April 6, 2015

In addition to piezoelectric nano-positioning stages and micro-positioning systems, Physik Instrumente (PI) is introducing a new air-bearing stage. The latter comes with motorized linear and XY stages, rotary tables and stages, spindles, non-motorized components, and machining systems. The air-bearing positioners float on air to provide completely frictionless motion, resulting in negligible hysteresis or reversal error, straightness, flatness, and velocity stability.
