Riding the Rails at a NASA Radar Range (.PDF Download)

The NASA Research Center in Hampden, Va., uses an indoor radar range to measure the radar cross-section (RCS) and antenna measurement range of very large objects. The RCS of a target is the effective area that intercepts the transmitted radar power and then scatters that power isotropically back to the radar receiver.
