The HPLC Series CNC Plasma Cutter from Techno Inc., New Hyde Park, N. Y. (www.technocnc.com), features simple operation, precision torch positioning, closed-loop position feedback, and heavy-duty machine construction. The ball screws on the X, Y, and Z axes come with antibacklash ball nuts. The closed-loop drive system accurately positions the torch. And the unit comes with a servocontrol card and a Windows-based software interface.

The unit’s frame is a heavy-duty welded tubular structure that is ground and stress relieved. The CNC interface includes easy-to-read and understand commands which include torch height control, torch touch off, programmable pierce time delay with a pierce-verification signal, and torch error detection, which increases consumable life. The interface also accepts industry-standard G-code files from any CAD/CAM package.

The cutter’s repeatability is to within 0.001 in., resolution is 0.0002 in., and its top cutting speed is 800 ipm. And customers can choose from three standard table sizes, which can handle up to 1.25-in. thick materials.
