Teradyne Appoints Universal Robots President

The robotics company announced Kim Povlsen will reinforce commitment to UR’s Danish origin.

Teradyne, Inc. has appointed Kim Povlsen president of Universal Robots, the Danish cobot manufacturer it purchased in 2015. The company expects Povlsen to lead Universal Robots’ next stage of growth and innovation. He will begin his new role on March 1. Povlsen has held various roles at energy management company, Schneider Electric. He lives in Aarhus, Denmark and holds a Master’s degree in computer science & embedded engineering from the University of Southern Denmark.

“[Universal Robots] not only pioneered the category of collaborative robots, created an ecosystem of partner technology solutions and a vast global distribution network to serve customers in their varied industrial automation needs,” said Povlsen in a press release. “It also has the potential to fundamentally reshape automation across the global economy.”
