Linear Track Offers Cobot Benefits and Modular Design

Feb. 28, 2023
SuperTrak’s collaborative robot cell and linear tracks are freewheeling and modular.

On display at MD&M West/ATX West at the SuperTrak booth was the company’s collaborative robot cell and modular track sections. When the power is off, the track is freewheeling and has encoder pickups on the top that relay the pallets location. Equipped with an iron core in the back with electronic coils, the system can support positioning within 0.01 mm. It has a magnet pack along with the encoder strips, allowing for easy removal.

Pallets can travel up to 4 m/s and each is independent, allowing them to travel at different speeds, directions and destinations. Collision detection and queuing of the pallets are all done by the track.
