Steel It, a two-part stainless-steel epoxy paint, protects nonsubmerged structures from water, salt air, detergents, and solvents. The system consists of an epoxy primer and finish coating with a 316L stainless-steel leafing pigment that creates a gray satin finish. The chip-resistant metallic barrier withstands continuous 2,000-hr salt-spray tests. It is applied by brush, roller, or spray gun, and comes in gallon and quart kits. A polyurethanebased formulation is also available for applications needing better UV resistance instead of acid resistance.
