Amazon Starts Trials on Drone Delivery System

Last week, Amazon made its first Prime-Air delivery with a drone deployed from a Cambridge warehouse. The drone delivered a package containing a fire remote and a bag of popcorn to a customer, 15 minutes after the customer set the order. Amazon hopes to use the Prime-Air drones to make deliveries in 30 minutes or less, expanding the service to hundred of people in a few months. 

Last week, Amazon made its first Prime-Air delivery with a drone deployed from a Cambridge warehouse. The drone delivered a package containing a Fire TV stick and a bag of popcorn to a customer within 15 minutes. Amazon hopes to use the Prime-Air drones to make deliveries in 30 minutes or less, expanding the service to hundred of people in a few months. The current drone design can only support payloads up to 5 lbs. 

Amazon is using a small town in the U.K. as its sample for its part of the beta trial
