The Universal NAMUR Series valves from Alcon North America, Orchard Park, N.Y. (alconsolenoids.com), feature high flows (Cv of 1.4, Kv of 1.2) and are well suited for piloting single and double-acting actuators on process valves such as butterfly and ball valves. They come in 3/2 and 5/2 configurations with exhaust ports for variable-speed control on the 3/2 valves. The body is made of anodized aluminum, while standard seals are Buna N. The valves work with lubricated and filtered compressed air between 37 and 150 psi. Response times are up to 5 cycles/sec. The units also feature an LED power indicator and a manual override button.
