The ETP Hydropress bushing from
Zero-Max Inc., Plymouth, Minn., holds components on shafts ranging from 80 to 200 mm in diameter, and takes up little space. The bushings handle torques from 21,000 to 200,000 lb-ft using hydraulic pressure contained in a double-walled sleeve. Technicians use a grease pump to mount the bushing onto a shaft. Once pressurized with grease, the sleeve expands uniformly, exerting contact pressure evenly against the shaft and hub. There is no axial movement of the hub.
