Connecting Brushless DC Motors to Electronic Controllers

​Brushless DC motor phase and sensor leads must be connected in a precise phase configuration for proper operation. Often the proper connection information is unavailable or explained differently from multiple suppliers. This paper explains the importance of the phasing relationship between motor sensor and phase leads, how the relationship can be measured and finally how to ensure the proper connections.
