Three new Loctite instant adhesives — 401, 406, and 454 — feature an enhanced formulation that lets them withstand temperatures up to 120°C without any adverse effect on overall performance. The adhesives bond to almost any material in less than 5 sec. The adhesives are available in various viscosities, and a comprehensive range of dispensing equipment is available.

Loctite 401, a clear, all-purpose instant adhesive, is suitable for rubber, plastics and metals, as well as for bonding porous materials such as wood, paper, cork, or leather. It also works on smooth, acidic substrates, such as galvanized or chromated components.

Loctite 406 is suited to the bonding of rubber, plastics, and elastomers. Substrates such as polyethylene, polypropylene, and polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) can also be adhesive-bonded with 406 after surface treatment with polyolefin primer, Loctite 770. Loctite 406 reaches its initial fixture strength within 2 to 10 sec.

Loctite 454 is a general-purpose, multipurpose instant bonding gel that does not drip, and bonds paper, wood, cork, foam, leather, cardboard, metals, and plastics.

Loctite 401 and Loctite 406 come in 20, 50, and 500-gm bottles, while Loctite 454 comes in tubes of 3, 20, and 300 gm.
