China ups generator output

July 27, 2006
Exports of portable power generators from China shot up 60% last year, to USD 1.5 billion.

Shipments to the U.S., Middle East, and Africa drove the strong demand. Sales to the U.S. totaled USD 323 million, according to a China Sourcing Report from Global Sources (NASDAQ:GSOL), a businessto-business media company.

The report predicts "most manufacturers will maintain or reduce prices in the next 12 months because of fierce competition." It covers 66 mainland China manufacturers and includes a product gallery with 217 popular export models. It also gives production and pricing forecasts as well as in-depth reports on major supply centers in China.
