The event is held once every six years in North America. This year the congress will take place at the Gaylord National Hotel in Washington, D.C. The technical program will feature approximately 400 presentations covering the latest trends and technological breakthroughs in metal powders and powder-metallurgy forming processes and applications. The 2008 International conference on Tungsten, Refractory, & Hardmaterials VII will run concurrently with the congress at the same location.
The Metal Powder Industries Federation and APMI International are sponsoring the PM2008 World Congress. It is held in cooperation with the European Powder Metallurgy Association and the Japan Powder Metallurgy Association.
