DeviceNet approved as a national standard for China

June 5, 2003
The Standardization Administration of the People's Republic of China (SAC) has approved DeviceNet as a standard.

As a result, the DeviceNet specification will be part of the first Chinese national standard to encompass fieldbus technology -- GB/T 18858 Low-voltage Switchgear and Controlgear Controller-Device Interface. GB/T 18858 is said to be equivalent to IEC 62026, a fieldbus standard from the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC). DeviceNet was adopted as part of the IEC standard in 2000.
