The company needed a controller for its Oarsmen nozzle, hundreds of which would be used to choreograph the fountain’s movements. The designers chose DMC-21x3 multiaxis controllers from Galil Motion Control, Rockline, Calif., mainly because they could turn the Oarsman into a spinning, articulating nozzle. “And the multiaxis capability lets us use two, three, or four axes to control the Oarsmen, giving us a scalable controller based on a single software and hardware interface,” says WET’s Scott Malherbe. WET also appreciated the 96-pin connector on the DMC- 21x3 because it facilitated a custom interconnect board for other hardware that mounts directly to the Galil controller.
