Recyclable packaging eliminates cross contamination

Tubelike Envirotube packaging has clamshell or thermoformed trays suspended inside.

AVC Corp., Torrance, Calif., says its retail package is completely recyclable. The clear plastic EnviroTube, which eliminates cross contamination during recycling, can be made using most PVC alternatives.

The injection-molded or thermoformed-plastic end caps have slits to hold an internal tray or clamshell and keep it suspended. Printing on the plastic obviates the need for printed-paper inserts.
