Virtual keyboards

March 4, 2004
Traditional keyboards wear out and must be replaced, but not the Virtual Keyboard.

From iBIZ Technology Corp., Phoenix (www.ibizpda.com), the device uses no moving parts to project a full-size keyboard image onto a flat surface. Laser and infrared technology pinpoint the correct letter to type according to location coordinates. The projector weighs 2 oz and is the size of a disposable cigarette lighter. A lithium-ion battery powers it for 3 to 4 hr. The keyboard is compatible with Win98/2000/XP, as well as most PDAs using Palm or Pocket PC operating systems.
