The new robotic Pemserter installation system picks up and positions workpieces in a Series 3000 press, aligns holes for fastener installation, and removes the completed part. The turnkey package, developed by Clear Automation, integrates an input conveyor with locator, output conveyor, gripper, Fanuc robot, and a basic sequence program to interface with the press. The press permanently installs all types of self-clinching fasteners in thin metal sheets. It has a 24-in. throat and generates ram forces up to 16,000 lb.
