The STR-Y6700 Series of off-line, quasiresonant switching regulators eliminates the need for dedicated power supplies to standby circuits.

The STR-Y6700 Series of off-line, quasiresonant switching regulators eliminates the need for dedicated power supplies to standby circuits. This reduces the input power required at no load to 30 mW or less for 100-Vac input and 50 mW or less for 230 Vac.

The regulator consists of a power MOSFET and a multifunctional monolithic integrated circuit (MIC) controller designed for controlling switch-mode power supplies. The quasi-resonant mode of operation, along with a bottom-skip function, allows high efficiency and low noise at low-to-high operational levels, while burst-oscillation mode ensures minimum power consumption at standby. Built-in startup and standby circuits use little power under low load and in standby mode.
