Atila is a finite-element software package for analyzing two or three dimensional elastic, piezoelectric, magnetostrictive, and fluid structures. With the software from Magsoft Corp., Troy, N.Y., users can perform static, modal, harmonic, and transient analysis of active structures. The formulation is organized around strong electrical/mechanical and fluid/structure couplings. It can be used for numerous applications including actuators, transducers, and sensors. Program modules are independent so software configurations can be customized. Different types of materials can be used for heterogeneous 2D and 3D structures and multiple excitation sources such as voltage, current, and displacements can be used at the same time.
