3D printer for offices

April 26, 2007
The high-definition color 3D ZPrinter 450 printer is intended for use in offices.

The machine is quiet, uses safe build materials, and features a closed-loop system to contain airborne particles. "No-touch" powder and binder cartridges allow clean loading of build materials. Other 3D printers attach support structures to models that require removing with razors or chemical baths. In contrast, the ZPrinter 450 supports models with loose powder, which it then removes and recycles. Users can monitor powder, binder, and ink levels from their desktops, and remotely read the machine's LCD. The ZPrinter 450 costs under $40,000.
