New Product: Current-Sense Transformers

March 6, 2008
Three new surface-mount current sense transformers measure or monitor ac currents in high-frequency applications.

The 5300, 5400, and 5500 Series transformers have a 50 to 500-kHz frequency range and comply with the J-STD-020C standard for reflow soldering.

The 5300 Series measures ac currents up to 10 A and comprises 10 different devices with a primary current rating to 10 A and between 20 and 200 turns. The unit has a primary-to-secondary isolation of 500 Vrms.

The 5400 and 5500 Series measure ac currents up to 15 A and are available with 50, 100, or 200 turns. The 5400 Series has a small footprint style and provides 1,200 Vrms primary to secondary isolation, while the 5500 Series comes in a low-profile package with primary to secondary isolation of 1,000 Vrms.
