from Quality Bearings & Components, Garden City Park, N.Y., come in over 125 English and metric sizes for precision and commercial-tolerance applications. Rod-end bearings are used on cylinder or linkage ends to compensate for misalignment between two connected parts. Male and female configurations are available and lubricator fittings are optional. The bearings have spherically shaped inner rings and a cylindrical bore for shaft mounting. The outer surface reportedly allows easy installation into any housing. The high-capacity bearings are recommended for low-frequency applications and can accommodate moderate shaft misalignments. The bearings are available in two and four-piece designs with options for self-lubricating components.
